Singer and songwriter John Denver touched millions of people. He also achieved the status of a superstar by his folk-inspired pop hits many of them based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr., born Henry John Deutschendorf from Roswell located in the state of New Mexico,, was in Love with Colorado. He settled in Aspen. Denver's anthems for his adopted state have attracted many people to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated it was because John Denver is the only artist to represent Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first to be inducted into the hall. He is now the international face of Colorado. While traveling, I may meet people at opposite sides of the globe. Like, for instance, someone who is from New Zealand. And when you tell them you're from Colorado people will respond with "Oh John Denver!" Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo singer after a brief period in small folk ensembles. Danoff used Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the song, but Denver realized that it could turn into a hit once the song was first heard by him. Just a few days after singing to an enthusiastic crowd at Washington D.C., the artist recorded the song.
